Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shankar is an British and American sitar player. She also sings. She was the first person in her age group to receive an award from the British House of Commons Staff. Anoushka Shakar, who is just a rising superstar on the Indian Sitar, is Anoushka. She is both the daughter and student of Ravi Shankar. She was born in London in 1982. In during her early years, she swam between London New Delhi. In New Delhi, she made her first appearance at only 13 years old. Then she moved to Encinitas CA, where she received her High School diploma with honors in the year 1999. Anouskha was only a teenager, has had a successful performing and recording career. She often joins her father in performances this she's done for quite a few years. In 1998, she debuted Anourag as her first album as a solo artist. The Grammy Award-winning live at Carnegie Hall was released two years later than her first solo album. As she's appeared on many of the biggest stages around the world, her performance career has been expansive. The career of Anoushka goes far beyond music. Bapi the Love of My Live, a biographical picture written in tribute to her father Ravi Shankar was published in 2002. In 2003 she starred as the role of a Bharat natyam young dancer in Dance Like a Man. Anoushka Shankar's professional career is continuing to develop and we're likely to see a variety of things from her in years to come. Anoushka was raised in England and spent a lot of her childhood between London as well as Delhi. After that, she relocated to California and enrolled in the high school. In Delhi at his 75thbirthday celebration she made her debut as a sitar player before the crowd of just four years after her 9-year-old father. Anoushka's father toured around the world with her and she also gained a variety of opportunities. As she was in her teens, Anoushka performed at Carnegie Hall during Peter Gabriel's WOMAD Music Festival. She was the youngest woman to be awarded the House of Commons Shield, awarded by British Parliament as recognition of her musicianship and artistry within the Asian Arts.
