Anna Gunn

Anna Gunn is an American actress. Her most well-known role was Skyler in the AMC's Breaking Bad drama, and won Primetime Emmy Award Outstanding Supporting Female Actress for Drama Series 2013 and 2014. Alongside her roles as Martha Bullock and Jean Ward She has also appeared on The Practice. Born in Sante Fe, New Mexico in 1968 Anna Gunn fell in love with acting in the Preparatory School she attended before her family moved to Ohio during the latter part of 1970. She studied theatre at Northwestern University, and spent an entire semester at the British American Drama Academy. Anna began her professional career working in the Chicago area theatres for a couple of years. Then she moved to film and television. Anna was chosen to play Arden on Down the Shore in the series of 29 episodes Down the Shore. In the early 90s she appeared as a regular guest in TV and film including Seinfeld or NYPD Blue. In the mid 2000's she was cast in Deadwood as Martha Bullock for two full seasons. Skyler is Her Breaking Bad role from 2008. Sully and Deadwood was a different film that she was a part of. Gunn played a role in the David Schwimmer directed the film Sex With Strangers. The actress, in 2022, also appeared in a series of audio play podcast called Numbered Days. Breaking Bad revolves around Walter White's relationship with Skyler. Walter White's life story as well as the stress on his relationship with Skyler is mirrored in the series.
